When Fate Tells Us to Take Cats Home

Sometimes when we least expect it, fate tells us that it’s time to take cats home.

That is how I have gotten each of my three kitties. It seems that when we least expect it, a kitten or a cat pops up in our life beckoning us to take them home with us. Can you think of a better companion?

New Kitties Make Cozy Homes

A new kitty provides coziness and warmth to any home. This is especially true for those who are single and unattached. If this is you, then you must consider getting yourself a rescue kitty. Often times, they end up rescuing you just as much as you rescued them.

They tend to rescue you from a life of being in a rut. Perhaps your life has gotten stale and you find yourself without a purpose. This happens to professional singles after they have completed a big project and have yet to start another. It’s like they don’t know what to do with themselves.

Cats Pull You Out of Life’s Ruts

Such a scenario is a perfect one for a brand new kitten or cat from your local animal shelter. The big benefit with having cats is that they are among the lowest maintenance engaging pets you can have. Other low maintenance pets like fish, birds, and reptiles offer zero engagement, but a cat is second only to dogs in pet engagement. In most cases, all you need is a litter box and some cat food – that’s it!

And cats are a great choice for those people who have never had a pet before since they are so easy to keep. The only downside is they can sometimes be rough on your furniture with their claw sharpening. This is why you should probably get a scratching post. If you have a kitten, then you need to make sure that the kitten understands what the scratching post is for. You can always sprinkle some catnip around the scratching post to entice them to spend time around it.
